What is BFP Thermo® Pine Wood?

BFP Thermo® Pine wood presents a sustainable alternative to tropical hardwoods, particularly well-suited for outdoor cladding. We provide a diverse range of ready-to-use profiles, including three standard options available in a sleek black finish. Custom profiles in thermowood pine can also be tailored to specific project needs. Produced through controlled pyrolysis at high temperatures, BFP Thermo® Pine wood enhances architectural stability, durability, and hardness.


This innovative thermal treatment ensures the wood’s resilience against environmental factors while maintaining its natural aesthetics. Ideal for both residential and commercial applications, BFP Thermo® Pine offers a reliable choice for sustainable construction projects seeking durability and aesthetic appeal.

Workability

Thermopine wood is highly workable, especially when the grain is consistent and straight. It can occasionally face planer tearout with figured or atypical grain. It accepts binding, stains, and finishes effectively and is suitable for steam bending.

Sustainability

Thermopine wood is an environmentally friendly choice. While pine trees grow relatively quickly, responsible logging practices are essential to maintain sustainability. Thermopine is not listed in the CITES Appendices or the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species, ensuring its availability for use.

Thermopine wood is versatile and commonly used in furniture, flooring, cabinetry, gunstocks, interior paneling, veneer, turned products, and various small wooden ornaments.
