The Foundation of Excellence

What is Sliced Wood?

BFP’s Sliced wood is meticulously crafted from carefully selected logs, chosen for their superior grain patterns and quality. These logs are softened through steaming or boiling, then mounted on specialized slicing machines. The wood is precisely cut into thin veneers, typically ranging from 0.2mm to 0.6mm in thickness. This process preserves the wood’s natural beauty while maximizing yield. As trusted timber importers in India, our team then carefully dries, sorts, and grades each veneer based on color, grain pattern, and quality. Our premium sliced wood is ideal for a wide range of applications in interior design and furniture making. From luxurious wall paneling to custom cabinetry and high-end furniture surfaces, BFP sliced wood provides the perfect balance of natural beauty, sustainability, and versatility for any fine woodworking project.

Yes. Using advanced matching processes such as book-matching and slip-matching, slender wood may be cut into continuous patterns across the panels improving the overall visual appearance of the design.
Sliced wood is suitable in day to day uses like furniture and paneling when it is correctly pressed, finished and maintained. It is also made more durable by the use of protective coating.
Similar to all natural wood, sliced veneers can be expected to develop a richer tone with time, particularly when in contact with light. This is a natural aging process that usually adds beauty to it.
The decision will be made based on the desired appearance and use. Walnut, as an example is deep and rich and oak has a more contemporary and textured feel. These are usually selected based on design intent and purpose.
