BFP Thermo® Oak
What is Thermo® Oak Wood?
BFP Thermo® Oak is a prized hardwood renowned for its exceptional blend of strength, hardness, and natural resistance to weathering. Derived from various beech tree species, this versatile wood has been a staple in crafting interior trim, furniture, and cabinets for generations. Its reputation for durability and resilience is unmatched.
While both European and American oak are celebrated, European oak distinguishes itself with a straighter grain and a more subdued color palette. This characteristic lends it a classic elegance often sought after in high-end designs.

Workability
Thermally modified oak wood offers excellent workability, comparable to other premium hardwoods. Its uniform and straight grain allows for easy machining, sawing, and sanding. The thermal modification process can make the wood slightly more brittle, so care should be taken when working with it to avoid splitting.
Sustainability
Thermo oak is an environmentally friendly option. The thermal modification process uses sustainably sourced oak, typically from managed forests. This treatment enhances the wood’s durability and resistance to decay, potentially reducing the need for chemical treatments and extending the lifespan of the wood products.
Common Uses
Thermo oak wood finds applications in various industries due to its enhanced properties. It’s particularly valued for outdoor furniture, decking, and cladding due to its improved weather resistance. Indoor applications include flooring, wall paneling, and high-end furniture. Its dimensional stability makes it suitable for window frames and doors.
