What exactly is
BFP CHARRED® WOOD?

BFP Charred® Wood is a charring process, also known as Shou Shugi Ban and Yakisugi, is a contemporary approach to providing long-lasting structural wood choices for wall claddings, flooring and decking, interior panels, and designer furniture. It has been adopted by many well-known architects throughout the globe. Our low maintenance sustainable charred timber solutions, which were first made available in India, adapt an antiquated method to meet contemporary architectural performance criteria by using cutting-edge technology.

The modern charring technique reduces the amount of carbohydrates in the wood, raises the proportion of lignin, burns off the resins, and produces a wood product that is far more resistant to moisture, fire, rot, and termites than untreated wood.

At BFP, we offer structural wood with
the following charring shades:

Espresso Walnut

The Espresso Walnut shows all of the knots and grains of the wood surface with an embossing that resembles a lovely woven fabric. The Espresso Walnut is charred and beautifully brushed to maintain a protective armor of brown natural carbon layer. treated with our unique penetrating bio-friendly oil, resin, and wax mixtures to maintain the freshness of the wood fibers for a very long time. Black carbon protection is also applied to the reverse of the boards. With our Espresso Walnut, you may enjoy the appearance of genuine wood for years to come.
